Amidst this month, the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) welcomed a mother cat and her five playful kittens into their care. Unexpectedly, all six felines were born with radial hypoplasia – a benign genetic disorder that affects the length and shape of their forelimbs, making them clubfooted. One of PAWS’ volunteers, Ashley Morrison, met the family at the shelter and immediately fell in love with them. The mother, a beautiful calico cat, approached Ashley as if to say she was ready to go wherever the volunteer wanted to take her and her babies. Ashley was initially hesitant as she was looking for a break from her charity work but couldn’t resist the charm of these loveable creatures and welcomed them into her life.
